Why This Site?
I created this site to reflect on the academic articles I read about pedagogy, teaching, and learning. Writing recaps helps me think critically, synthesize ideas, and keep a record of what I’ve learned. I also hope these reflections are helpful for other educators, researchers, or students exploring similar questions.
I read lots of papers that eventually end up in a big unmanageable pile, and after a couple weeks I don't remember which paper was which or what paper spoke about what, so this website acs as an excercise in memory and critical reading.
Who Am I?
I'm an educator interested in research-informed teaching practices, but my more specific interests lie in effective behaviour management for challenging students (SEN, ACE, etc.). I work primarily in secondary-level Computer Science, and I'm constantly looking for ways to deepen my approach.
I maintain some anonymity here, and my teaching and reading practices are grounded in values of equity, curiosity, and unconditional care.
